Our Journey
The Story Behind Live Simply, Stay Salty
I grew up in South Florida, where my childhood was shaped by days spent fishing and diving with my dad, and wandering through lush, tropical forests. It was there — barefoot, salty, and sun-kissed — that I fell in love with the natural world. By high school, I was surfing with friends, and the ocean quickly became my sanctuary.
After graduating college, I set off to live the dream I’d carried since I was a little girl: a simple life on a tropical island. Traveling, pursuing my creative passions, surfing everyday, practicing yoga, and constantly getting out of my comfort zone provided an amazing platform for self-development – to grow, to find contentment. Those years were about pulling away the layers of influence built up throughout my life, and finding who I truly was underneath.
But life, as it often does, shifted course. I followed love to Newcastle, Australia. Transitioning from island time to modern society was disorienting. The pace, the pressure — for a while, I felt completely lost. Like I had abandoned the very part of myself I had worked so hard to uncover.
So I went inward again. This time with deeper intention. I stripped everything back and asked myself, “What truly brings me joy? What does a meaningful life look like now?”
For a full year, I rebuilt my life from the inside out. Slowly, simply, soulfully. And out of that journey, Live Simply, Stay Salty was born.
This space is a reflection of all that helped me find my way — connection with nature, the wisdom of the ocean, creativity, movement, and moments of stillness. It’s a place for people (like you) who might feel a little lost, a little disconnected, or simply ready to reclaim their passion and purpose.
It’s not about becoming someone new.
It’s about coming home to who you’ve always been.
