FROM SEA TO PLATE

GROUP SURF & BOARD SWAP + BEACH YOGA + sustainable SEAFOOD LUNCH
Join us for the ultimate summer beach day: riding waves, swapping boards, and nourishing our bodies through yoga and a delectable, sustainable seafood lunch, cooked and enjoyed right at the beach – all the ingredients for a salty, connected, playful and soul-filled day.
Come play in the ocean and try out an array of Shortie Surfboards provided, or swap your own with another’s to have some fun! This is an amazing chance to try different shapes if you’ve been stuck on the same board for too long; have been considering downsizing, long boarding, trying out a single fin or twin fin.
Warm up before the surf with some quick, gentle stretches; and recover afterwards with a post-surf yoga flow.
After we’ve worked up an appetite, we’ll learn about sustainable seafood, local plants and herbs and how to cook with them, while a gourmet seafood lunch is prepared right at the beach. Accompanying our main course will be fresh and vibrant sides packed full of nourishing whole foods.
The event will be held at Catherine Hill Bay, a beach where we can choose to surf the South end, which is typically more sheltered from big swell, or North end based on the wind, swell, and experience level of the group. The exact meeting location will be determined closer to the event.

A friendly attitude
- Do we have to know how to surf to join this experience? We welcome all levels of surfers to join us. No lessons are provided, so we request that you at least feel comfortable paddling out to the lineup and catching waves up to 2 or 3 ft on your own. If you’re an intermediate or advanced surfer, please come with a friendly and inclusive attitude towards those less experienced.
- What if the waves are out of my comfort level? We will do our best to select a surf spot suitable for the experience level of everyone in the group, which we’ll ask for in a short questionnaire upon booking. While we won’t put anyone in dangerous conditions above their skill level, we’d love to encourage you to surf slightly out of your comfort zone – it’s part of our ethos! Growth happens when we overcome fear and the mental barriers that hold us back.
- What if I choose not to surf on the day? Surfing is an optional and free part of this experience. We can’t offer any discounts or refunds if you don’t take part in all the activities, but it’s completely fine if you prefer to occupy that time another way. You could stroll the beautiful beach underneath the jetty or towards the tide pools, go for a dip in calmer waters, bring a bodyboard to surf the white-wash, a camera, a journal or a book!
- Will you cater to food allergies or dietary restrictions? Absolutely! Along with learning about your surf and yoga experience in our pre-event questionnaire, we’ll also be asking for dietary requirements. Fish will remain our main course, while all other ingredients can be catered accordingly.
